Releasing a gelatinous zooplankton back to the sea.

Marine scientist and educator

I’m trained broadly as a biologist working in marine ecosystems. I conduct research on marine plankton in different geographical regions of the global ocean. Some of my research has examined the basic underlying biology, physiology and ecology of the organisms using culture dependent methods, taxonomy and traditional methods in biological oceanography. Other projects have examined how climate scenarios such as ocean acidification, and warming have changed the long-term patterns of marine plankton abundance, distribution and phenology.
